About Us
Watermore PTFA is made up of Parents, Teachers and Friends of Watermore Primary School in Frampton Cotterell.
Our mission is to enrich the lives of the school’s students and our kids by providing a number of additional opportunities that the school would not usually be able to afford.
We do this through fund raising activities throughout the year. We have a list of commitments that we strive to meet for the school each year and so every penny is put to good use and we also aim to use that money within the same year.
Our Fundraising Efforts
Our success is due to the enormous generosity of our school’s community and the tireless efforts by our PTFA into putting on amazing events throughout the year.
However, we will also ensure we’re always transparent and open about where the money is and where is it going.
Where do your donations go?
Our commitment is to spend the money we raise as soon as possible, so that your donations go towards the students, and your own children, attending in the same calendar year.
However, we also aim to support the school with longer term funding initiatives which means we review our budget at every committee meeting and agree where the funds are going and saving towards larger targets.
For example, when the school was built, the PTFA funded the outdoor play area at the bottom of the playground (which cost around £39,000) and most recently (in 2023) we have provided the school with £10,000 towards the investment in new Scrapstore Playpods.
While we commit to spending the money as soon as possible, we try to plan for the future as much as possible in terms of budgeting – this means we look at our commitments for the year and use that as a target i.e. “we need to ensure that amount is available in funds at all times” so that if we’re suddenly unable to raise more money (as was the case during the COVID-19 pandemic) we were able to continue to fund enrichment activities for the students for a significant period of time thereafter.
